LIBRARY PARK

The architecture in university has to be multifaceted and smooth on its boundary between an interior and external space. Because, it is good to continuously stimulate the five senses of young students who grow differently in every day by extending the space which is a background of their learning, reasoning and harmony with various experiences on the campus. By providing an affluent, sophisticated and lively architectural space, we propose a library and student hall that students can foster a broad spectrum of intelligence in Korea national sport university.

The library and student hall were planned through a process of considering how the symbolic axis and the front yard would be related to the inner space. The front yard is connected to the library park on the ground floor, and this flow is interestingly changed through the stairs leading to the pocket park on the fourth floor. Plus the student hall was designed to allow club rooms located on the second floor to get external space for students’ activities.
